Some of my fave reads

As promised, here are some great reads.  Hope you enjoy!

Excellent reads: (as in, I am still thinking about the books)

any novel by Kate Morton is an addictive read

Vacation reads: (although some days you want an easier read in the middle of your week)

Encouragement reads:

By far the BEST book on parenting and grace that I've read. However, give yourself grace when first starting to read it.

I'm still slowly reading through this one. Great read thus far

An excellent read that I recommend to everyone, whether you've faced immense suffering in your life or not. Invaluable information for those who are suffering, those you know are suffering, and as always, a solid book by Tim Keller.

If you end up reading any of these books, let me know what you think!

August 2014

 KBK Farm in Nashville

Awesome four-wheeling ride on my uncle's farm. We stayed there for our best friend Jay's wedding. Such a fun time had by all!
Anne Springs Greenway, across the street from our neighborhood
This donkey presented the perfect opportunity for me to attempt a Mary and Joseph life lesson

We had the privilege of visiting the actual Air Base here in town to celebrate our friend Holt's and Heyden's birthdays.  Their daddy is a Lieutenant Colonel, so he showed us around the aircraft he flies. Coolest experience ever.

Miss Independent can scamper up this barstool faster than you can blink, and she'll stand up, play on my computer, and booty dance.  I turn my back for two seconds and she has climbed something else.  She is into everything, repeating everything her brother says ("I don't like it," "stop," "hungee," "I do it.")

Jackson continues to read aloud, and he starts off his stories with "once again..."  Makes me smile every time he says it. He is really picking up on the words of the hymns and other songs I play at meal times. He loves his sister, and they play well together half the time, and then start swinging punches/shoves/head tackling the other half of the time.  These cuties sure do keep me on my toes!  If ever (ahem, usually, often) I feel overwhelmed at the routine nature of my everyday tasks (read "Desperate" by Sally Clarkson...she affirms this feeling!), I recall the perfect verse:
"Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup. You have made my lot secure." Psalm 16:5

Blog post coming soon on the (many!) books I've read lately, as well as our September activities (kids in school! Yippee!)
